Directing is another way I love to tell stories by shaping the action around the words with a strong vision about how this story will be told.
And the best part is that it doesn't happen alone.
And the best part is that it doesn't happen alone.
No matter the size of the cast & audience or resources of the theatre itself, directing has only been interesting to me when it's a collaboration between all the elements of performance, scenic design, costuming and engineers of light & sound.
I've had the joy of directing partially scripted and fully improvised shows in both traditional and experimental spaces. The constant theme between each experience is utilizing my skills in counseling, photography, playwriting and storytelling to deliver a show that is fulfilling for the creatives involved, enjoyable for an audience and stirs all sorts of lively conversations in the lobby afterward.
If you're looking for this kind of a director, I'd love to discuss working together and creating theatre that's unique and collaborative and oh so fun.
